Problem Solving
Challenges & solutions
Challenge
Three windows above the original fireplace mantel limited a more grandiose focal point, and the client wanted to keep them.
Solution
The fireplace area was redesigned around a leathered granite feature, balanced with undercabinet lighting so the windows read as part of the composition rather than a constraint.
Challenge
Achieving a luxurious, cohesive result across the whole home while respecting the clients' budget priorities.
Solution
Investment was directed to high-impact moments — like the kitchen's Bianco Quartzite counters and refreshed cabinetry — rather than spread thin across every surface.
Challenge
The primary bedroom's window placement and bed-wall composition needed to work together visually.
Solution
The bed and lighting were positioned to balance the window wall, with layered textiles and fixtures that draw the eye evenly across the room.

FAQ
Full-house remodeling questions
When should an interior designer join a remodeling project?
As early as possible — ideally before finishes and layout decisions are locked in, so your designer and contractor can plan together from the start.
Can Elle & Ivy help coordinate design decisions across the entire home?
Yes. Coordinating selections across every room is the core of a full-house remodel, so finishes, lighting, and furnishings read as one connected whole.
Do you work with the client's contractor or builder?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with your contractor or builder so design decisions carry through construction.
Can the project be completed in phases?
Yes. Projects can be planned and carried out in phases to fit your priorities and timeline.
Are furniture and decorating included?
They can be. Furnishing and styling are part of a full-service remodel when you want the home completed end to end.
How are design selections and budgets handled?
We direct investment toward high-impact decisions and document selections clearly, so the budget is spent where it makes the most difference.
