Decorating 1–2 Rooms

The room you apologize for when guests arrive. Furnished, styled, and finished properly — without taking on the whole house.

Focused Scope

One Room, Resolved Completely

Most homes have one room that never landed. The furniture was bought in a hurry, the lighting came with the house, and nothing in it quite relates to anything else. It is the room that gets the door closed when people come over.

A one or two room project fixes exactly that, and nothing more. You get the same process used on a whole-house project — layout, scale, lighting, textiles, styling — applied to the space that is actually bothering you.

It is also the most common way clients start. Some stop there, perfectly happy. Others come back for the next room once they have seen what a finished one looks like.

You want to test working with a designer before committing further

A single room needs to be ready for a specific date or occasion

The Adams Estate Home Office

Client Needs

The office had become the room where everything landed — mismatched furniture, no focal point, and shelving that held clutter rather than anything worth looking at. It needed to work as a study without being rebuilt.

Design Response

The furniture was rescaled to the room, the built-in shelving restyled, and lighting layered so the space reads as a considered study. No construction was involved — this is what decorating alone can do to a single room.

Problem Solving

Challenges & solutions

Challenge

The office furniture was a collection of unrelated pieces at the wrong scale for the room.

Solution

Pieces were rescaled and rearranged around a single focal point, so the room finally has a centre rather than four competing corners.

Challenge

Built-in shelving was doing storage duty and looked cluttered from every seat in the room.

Solution

The shelving was restyled with a mix of books, objects and negative space, turning the largest wall into the reason to look up rather than away.

Challenge

A single finished room can end up looking disconnected from the rest of the house.

Solution

Selections were checked against the palette and materials already present elsewhere in the home, so the room reads as an upgrade rather than an outlier.

Our Process

How a focused decorating project runs

01

Discovery & Room Scope

We walk the room, talk through how you use it, and agree what is in and out of scope.

02

Direction & Layout

A design direction and furniture layout are set, tested against the room's proportions.

03

Selections & Procurement

Furniture, lighting, textiles and accessories are finalized and ordered.

04

Installation & Final Styling

Delivery is coordinated and the room is styled to completion in a single install.

FAQ

Decorating 1–2 rooms: common questions

Is one room too small a project for you?

No. Single-room projects are a normal part of what we do, and they are how a lot of our longer client relationships started.

Can we keep furniture we already own?

Yes. If there are pieces you love, we build the room around them and fill the gaps rather than insisting you start over.

Which rooms do people usually pick?

Living rooms and primary bedrooms most often, then home offices. It tends to be whichever room you use daily and have never been happy with.

How long does a single room take?

Typically a few weeks to a few months, driven almost entirely by furniture lead times rather than design time. We flag long-lead items early.

Do you handle ordering and delivery?

Yes. Procurement, order tracking and delivery coordination are included, through to the install day.

Can we expand the scope later?

Often, yes. If you think another room may follow, tell us at the start and we will set a direction that extends cleanly instead of boxing you in.

Which Northwest Arkansas cities do you serve?

Fayetteville, Goshen, Springdale, Bentonville, Lowell and the surrounding Northwest Arkansas communities.

How do we begin?

Reach out to schedule a consultation. We will walk the room, agree the scope, and outline the next steps.

Ready to Finish That One Room?

Tell us which room, how you use it, and what is not working. We will come back with a straight answer on what it would take.
